Year 2 and 3: Daily reading at home, weekly spellings and a Literacy and/or Maths task (new spellings and tasks are given every Friday with testing/homework due on the following Thursday).

All spellings and tasks are explained to the class, however if they are finding them tricky then please encourage your child to ask me for help at the start of the week.

This Summer Term our main theme is PLANTS.

Through Literacy, Science, History and Geography we will be learning about British plants (including our common flowers, trees and crops).

During R.E we will be studying 'I Wonder...Questions that puzzle us'. This unit will explore the 'big questions' children may have about Christianity and other religions.

Don't forget about our Reading Challenge and Reading Bingo!

To close our 'Animal' topic and begin our 'Plants' topic, we had an incredible learning trip to Wilderhope Manor on the 20th March 2018. Ask your child about the photos below...Why was there a window in the chimney? Why were holes made in the barns for barn owls? Which creatures did you find in the pond? Which art activity did you do in the afternoon? What was the grass area called in  front of the manor house? What was unusual about the tops of the chimneys? Could you see out of all of the windows? (Why/why not?)
